On Saturday 12th March
2005 at approximately 02:05, police officers from Lewisham responded to calls
of a green Rover in collision with a parked and unattended silver Toyota in
Lawrie Park Road, Sydenham, London SE26.
The London Fire Brigade
was in attendance and the three occupants of the Rover were cut from the
vehicle. The London Ambulance Service was also in attendance and all three
passengers of the vehicle were transported to a South London
hospital.
The sixteen-year old
boy who was driving the Rover was pronounced dead on arrival at hospital. A
seventeen year old man who was travelling in the front passenger seat suffered
serious chest injuries and is currently in hospital in a serious but stable
condition. A twenty-two year old man who was travelling in the backseat
suffered leg injuries.
The sixteen year old
deceased boy has been identified as Alexander Bent of Ludwick Mews, London SE14
Police Sergeant Simon
Seeley of the Collision Investigation Unit said :
"I would appeal to
anyone who may have witnessed this accident to get in contact with the police."
"We believe there may
have been a party taking place in Lawrie Park Road and would also appeal to
anyone who was at the party and who may have seen or heard anything to contact
Collision Investigation Unit on 020 8284 5988." |
