Liz Stuart is South London's evangelist for
PowerPramming - a post natal fitness programme to help new mothers regain a
healthy and trim figure in beautiful suroundings with baby and felow mothers.
Liz set up programmes in four London parks and on a sunny June Friday brought
it to Crystal Palace. Six mums joined her for the first of a weekly
programme.
Liz set up the workout after giving birth to her son
Ezra in 2004. she wanted to get fit and meet other new Mums at the same time.
She said "traditional exercise classes did not appeal to me as I was worried
that my young baby would need carrying round or I would have to arrange a
babysitter. Powerpramming solved this problem as it is a workout I can
participate in while I am pushing him in the pram".
The workout consists of a warm up, power walking
exercises, strength and toning exercises and a cool down and stretch. Mum's
work at their own pace whether that means going for the burn or taking it
easyand usually go for coffee or lunch after Powerpramming.
It starts every Friday 1pm outside the Information
Centre (near the Penge Thicket Lane entrance). Just turn up or find out more
from Liz's own website.
