Turning around we have
the bridge across the stream. The old waterfall has been replaced by the
geological strata & time trail. Professor Peter Doyle from the University
of Greenwich rediscovered and led the restoration of another treasure of the
original park.
You can see to the right
a limestone cliff face with coal and granite strata. Nearby is a reconstructed
cave representing a lead mine complete with artificial stalactites and
stalagmites. Can you remember which grows up and which grows down? Sadly this
area is fenced off as being unsafe. |
