Walking & climbing
the path beside the zoo brings you to a grassy knoll overlooking the National
Sports Centre Stadium.
To the right is the
Jubilee Stand opened in 1977 and also housing other athletic activities under
the seating. Looking straight ahead beyond the stadium is the swimming pool
complex. To the left of the tree you can see a part of the huge scoreboard so
often featured on TV during the Grand Prix athletic season and disappearing off
to the left is the main stand.
As with the Pools the
stadium was 'state of the art' when built but has now fallen below
international standards and in need of replacement. |
