Taken from the same spot
as <picture 12> looking
westward towards the National Sports Centre Stadium main stand.
Beyond the Stadium is
the main Crystal Palace transmitter mast and to the right is the Sportman's
Lodge. This 'tower in the park' is for athletes to stay when training. It also
happens to be the home of Penge Rotary Club who meet there Monday
evenings.
In the foreground is the
intrusive fencing that surrounds the NSC. While needed to protect the
facilities from vandalism and the control of crowds during events - it does
impede access around the park. |
