Sydenham Road at the Railway Bridge
Sydenham's railway services were operated by Connex
South Central - the first train operator to lose their franchise for
incompetence. The service is dire, seldom on time and with overcrowded short
trains.
This is because the trains ordered by Connex required
the 'wrong' sort of electricity. National Rail has now taken over the franchise
and is promising to upgrade the power supply. We may see the new trains next
year. Until then the misery continues...
Meanwhile the little shop that stands guard on the
railway bridge is no longer a gift shop - but an outpost of the PropertyWorld
rental agency opposite.
