A few yards more along
the path and the Children's Playground. Almost every child brought up in
Sydenham, Penge or Anerley must have played here. The safe enclosure means
parents can relax while the kids play.
Safety has meant that
many favourite things have disappeared from the playground. No longer can you
be launched into space from a see-saw or spun off the
