The whole park was built
on a central axis that led from the Penge Entrance in Thicket Road to the main
staircases of the Crystal Palace itself.
Here we look down the
Avenue with its Mr Whippy ice cream van and, in the distance, a crowd of
children watching Punch & Judy <more later>. In the distance and
to the right is the Park Cafe <more
later>.
To the left you can see
the signs showing the 'Green Chain' walking route that starts in the Park and
extends through other south east London parks. |
